Saturday 30th May – windsurf **** - Port la Nautique – sunny

Zantos 133, x-15 7m, 38 cm fin, max 28.75 kts, ave 26.45 kts, mile 21.60 kts, 47 km, 115 mins.

With the forecast wind of 15/20 mph dropping by mid morning it was a case of getting up early and giving it a go! At 8 in the morning the breeze that blow all night had dropped and no one was out, then at about 9 our neighbour took a change and went out and got going so I rigged as yesterday and was soon out on the water missing breakfast, leaving Mag doing her exercises by the van:) For a long time it was a struggle to get going in the light gusty winds but I keep sailing back and forth to Bages getting the odd gust and seeing loads of good fish jumping high out of the water!!! By now several windsurfers had launched from the other end and were going better at the Narbonne end of the Etang so I had a slow beat to join them by which time the breeze instead of dropping really filled in strong !!!! and I had some good runs pushing 30kts but it had become very lumpy and I was beginning to wish I had gone to La Franqui! Still sailing in the Etang made a change and Mag really loves it here :) I was out nonstop for 115 mins and was knackered and hungry some called it a day and came ashore for breakfast at 12.30! We then packed up and headed for the Sigean Lidl and then to Mc Donalds for 3 hours! :( to post my gps results, do my Forces of Nature blog and upload a 100 pics to facebook and as usual things never run smooth! While deleting nearly 300 emails I discovered I had won £25 in a photo competition in a camper Mag! :) that might be put to a new camera as my much loved and abused Fuji X-S1 has died on this trip and I really miss it! We then drove approx 35 inland in some stunning scenery to one of our favourite overnight spots – Chat d’Aguilar and enjoyed chicken and chips outside with the sun setting over the mountains :)
